Giant Arizona Lottery Jackpots for Three Big Games

Powerball jackpot at $139 million, The Pick at $5 million and Pick 5 at $230,000

PHOENIX (March 4, 2010) — With the jackpots for three big Arizona Lottery games at the highest they’ve all been in several months, Lottery officials expect a surge in ticket purchases by players hoping to be the next big winners.

The Powerball jackpot for Saturday’s drawing is $139 million and is the highest jackpot in the world. Arizona’s own jackpot game, The Pick, is also experiencing high jackpots, now at $5 million for Saturday’s drawing. It has been 10 months since The Pick jackpot has been this high. The Pick 5 jackpot is resting at $230,000, the highest it’s been since September.

“These enormous jackpots have Arizona Lottery players really excited about their chances to win big, from hundreds of thousands of dollars to more than a hundred million dollars,” said Jeff Hatch-Miller, executive director of the Arizona Lottery. “We’re looking forward to ushering in those big prize winners very soon right here in Arizona.”

The Pick and Powerball tickets for Saturday’s drawings can be purchased until 7:59 p.m. Saturday. Pick 5 is a daily game and the next drawing is tonight.

Powerball, The Pick and Pick 5 drawings are broadcast during the 10 p.m. news on Channel 15 (ABC) in Phoenix, Channel 13 (CBS) in Tucson, and in Spanish on Univision. Powerball is played in 41 states, the District of Columbia and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Fourth $200,000 Powerball Prize Won in Arizona in Past Month

Winning ticket from Feb. 27 drawing joins others from Jan. 27, Jan. 30 and Feb. 13

PHOENIX (March 1, 2010) — A Powerball ticket purchased in Glendale for the Feb. 27 drawing is the latest in a string of winning Powerball tickets purchased in the Valley worth $200,000 each for the second prize. Of the four winning tickets purchased in Arizona in the past month, three have not yet been claimed.

Saturday’s ticket was purchased at the Circle K at 13110 W. Glendale Ave., in Glendale. Just two weeks before, a $200,000 second prize ticket was sold at the Fry’s Food Store at 185 W. Apache Trail in Apache Junction for the Feb. 13 drawing.

Saturday’s winning Powerball numbers were 18, 47, 51, 53, 58 and the Powerball was 30. The ticket purchased in Glendale was one of four nationally to match all five white ball numbers for the second prize.

Exactly one month before Saturday’s drawing, a Powerball ticket purchased at the Safeway at 13503 W. Camino del Sol in Sun City West for the Jan. 27 drawing matched the right numbers for the second prize. Three days later, another second prize winning ticket worth $200,000 was drawn; that ticket was purchased at the Circle K at 1850 S. Stapley Dr., in Mesa

“We are excited to have four $200,000 winning Powerball tickets in one month’s time right here in Arizona,” said Jeff Hatch-Miller, executive director for the Arizona Lottery. “Three of the four $200,000 prizes out there are waiting to be claimed, so I would like to urge everyone who participated in those drawings to check their tickets to see if they may be the state’s latest Powerball winners.”

So far, only the Jan. 27 winning ticket has been claimed.

Because there was no Powerball jackpot winner from Saturday, the jackpot for Wednesday’s drawing climbs to an estimated $114 million.

The drawings are broadcast during the 10 p.m. news on Channel 15 (ABC) in Phoenix, Channel 13 (CBS) in Tucson, and in Spanish on Univision. Powerball is played in 32 states, the District of Columbia and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Players can also check their numbers by logging onto arizonalottery.com or by calling the winning numbers hotlines at 480-829-PICK in Phoenix and 1-800-499-3798 in all other Arizona areas.
